Hi folks,
i was talking with Liam (RV-man) this morning and he's still not fully on-board and available to us (yet?). Some new challenges have arisen on his side of things - so he's not ruling anything out (yet) but i think we do need to consider having a plan-B just in case ... both for a van itself and if we're down Liam as a driver ;-(
I've had a look at some camper van sites for Irish based providers, and its not too encouraging ... with respect to our probable need of having any number of Drivers needing to be involved to shift any camper van around the country. They don't seem to do the concept of 'open' driving ... and we'd have to name each driver and pay X euros per day per driver for the pleasure of this.
-- this is just from browsing, so possibly if contact was to be made via telephone some companies might be better able to help us ?
==> anyhow is there any possibility of you guys coming over from York with a camper van ?? As in renting one from York and driving across in same , with your bikes etc inside. Maybe from a financial perspective it's better than renting one here.
And maybe we wouldn't need to tell them that you're participating in a RAI, but meeting some friends for a cycling holiday around (parts of) Ireland and would need some insurance coverage for Irish-based drivers ? Or or or ... ?
Have a nice weekend, Rodney
